Actor Noah Schnapp from “Stranger Things” comes out as gay
Noah Schnapp, who played Will Byers on “Stranger Things,” has come out as gay.
The 18-year-old made the revelation in a video posted to TikTok on Thursday, along with the caption, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.'”
“I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought,” he continued, referring to his character on the show.
Fans of Schnapp’s “Stranger Things” portrayal of Will Byers have long assumed that Byers is gay due to the character’s clear attraction to Wheeler’s character, Mike. Schnapp seems to be backing up the fan theory.
Schnapp and his “Stranger Things” co-star Millie Bobby Brown are good friends. They hang out frequently and have even appeared on late-night talk shows together.
Schnapp has only started his first year at Penn, but he’s already making waves.
