According to a leaked Resident Evil 4 VR clip, free Mercenaries DLC will be available in 2022
A leaked video suggests that Resident Evil 4 VR will receive a free update in 2022 that will include The Mercenaries option, as first reported by Biohazard Declassified (via UploadVR).
According to the claim, a teaser for the much-anticipated Mercenaries option briefly appeared on the Oculus YouTube channel before being removed. Despite this, individuals were able to save the trailer and rebroadcast it on YouTube. According to the leaked teaser, The Mercenaries DLC will be released “in 2022” as a “free update on Meta Quest 2.”
Some Mercenaries fans were dismayed to see that the game was not featured in RE4VR, which pushes you to slaughter hordes of opponents and rack up as many points as possible before the timer runs out. The Mercenaries mode, as UploadVR points out, has been included in all versions of RE4 – except for RE4VR. The mode was also included in RE3: Nemesis, RE5, RE6, RE Village, and its own spinoff RE: The Mercenaries 3D.
RE4VR was released last month on the Oculus Quest 2 without the previous add-ons, which included The Mercenaries, Separate Ways, and Assignment: Ada. Our RE4VR review provides a more in-depth look at how the base game works, which turned out to be better than we expected.
As seen in the leaked clip, Facebook (which now belongs to Meta) has changed the “Oculus Quest 2” with a new name and logo, dubbed the “Meta Quest 2.” The rebranding has also permeated the Oculus website, where Meta’s name and emblem can be found in the top left corner of the screen (via UploadVR). Meta intends to phase out Oculus branding in 2022, just in time for the anticipated release of The Mercenaries.
