20K in damages from a garbage fire that spread to a garage in Green Bay
Green Bay residents responded quickly after a garbage can fire damaged their detached garage.
It happened on Chicago Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived to find a trash can blaze that had spread to an attached garage, destroying half of the garage’s side and reaching up into the roof.
Rapid response from the fire department put out the blaze and saved the garage and the vehicle contained therein.
People in the Green Bay area are reminded by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department to put out any burning embers before throwing them out.
Authorities have put the entire loss at roughly $20,000.
