1 dead, 9 injured after New Year’s Eve shooting in Alabama
A shooting on New Year’s Eve left one person dead and nine others injured in Mobile, Alabama.
According to the Mobile Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 200 block of Dauphin Street at approximately 11:14 p.m. local time.
A 24-year-old male was found dead by responding officers. The police say nine more people were injured by gunfire.
Victims ranging in age from 17 to 57 were taken to area hospitals with moderate to life-threatening wounds. According to the police, two businesses were also targeted by gunfire.
On Sunday, police said they had taken a man into custody in connection with the shooting. The Mobile Police Department said in a statement, “The subject is receiving medical treatment and, upon release, will be transported to Metro Jail and charged with murder.”

Reports say that a man was killed and at least three others were injured in a shooting that took place in a parking lot near Northwest 10th Street and North Hudson Avenue in the city’s downtown.
